Seven strong not enough as Kevin Gausman takes no-decision

Orioles pitcher Kevin Gausman put seven strong innings Saturday, but didn't get much help in a 3-2 loss to the Rays.

Gausman had an early lead through three innings, but exited after seven innings down 2-1 before the offense rallied to get him off the hook for the loss. He allowed two earned runs on five hits and four walks over his seven innings of work, while striking out seven batters on 106 pitches in a no-decision.

Gausman has not won his last four starts, while allowing 11 runs in 25 1/3 innings in that stretch. He is 7-7 overall with a 3.83 ERA heading into his next start, set for Friday against the Yankees.
