Serge Ibaka put up his ninth double-double this season, scoring 17 points and registering 13 rebounds, to help the Oklahoma City Thunder defeat the New Orleans Pelicans, 109-95. The Thunder took quality shots in this game, finishing 39-77 (50.6%). Oklahoma City (14-4) has now won nine of their last 10 games.
Ibaka went 5-12 and converted 7-8 from the free throw line. Kevin Durant also chipped in for Oklahoma City, finishing with 29 points and 8 rebounds. On 5-17 shooting (1-6 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 7-8 from the free throw line, Ryan Anderson scored 18 points for New Orleans in the loss.
The Thunder recorded a FTA rate of 39.0 to go alongside their 55.2% eFG%. They are 1-0 on the season when eclipsing 35.0 and 55% in those respective offensive factors. The Pelicans, however, are winless (0-3) when allowing opponents to reach those thresholds.
New Orleans (9-10) has now lost back-to-back games after falling to Dallas on Wednesday.
Coming up, the Thunder square off against the Indiana Pacers, who are 17-2 on the season. The Pelicans go up against the Detroit Pistons, currently sitting at 9-10 this year.
