Florida State took over the No. 1 spot in both major polls, which were released Sunday.
The Seminoles (12-0) moved up from the second spot after Alabama's shocking 34-28 loss to Auburn. Florida State received 58 of 62 first-place votes in the USA Today coaches poll and 58 of 60 top votes in the Associated Press media top 25.
Florida State is No. 1 in the AP poll for the first time since Oct. 1, 2000, when it won its last national championship.
The top six teams were the same in both polls.
Ohio State (12-0) moved up a spot to No. 2 and received the remaining four first-place votes in the coaches poll.
Auburn (11-1) climbed to No. 3 and picked up the two remaining first-place votes in the AP poll.
Alabama (11-1) fell from the top spot in both polls to No. 4. The Crimson Tide were No. 1 since the preseason.
No. 5 Missouri (11-1) will play Auburn for the SEC championship.
Oklahoma State (10-1) came in at No. 6.
