Just a tick over 40,000 fans watched Obafemi Martins' MLS debut in the Seattle Sounders FC's 1-1 tie with the Portland Timbers.
The opening goal came in the 13th minute, before Martins entered. Steve Zakuani scooped up an errant Diego Chara pass and sprinted half the length of the field. Zakuani's low, bending cross only needed a simple tap-in from Eddie Johnson.
Marins, sucking in his cheeks, replaced Mario Martinez in the 70th minute.
The Timbers equalized a second before stoppage time began. Andrew Jean-Baptiste lifted the ball back into the box after Seattle had cleared, and Rodney Wallace headed into the top corner.
