An early own goal put the Seattle Sounders behind, but the hottest club in MLS fought back in the second half to grab a 2-1 win.
A deflected cross from a free kick opened the scoring 13 minutes in, with Brad Evans deflecting the ball into his own net, giving the Union the boost of an early lead.
Had it not been for several blocked shot from Chad Marshall in the first half, the Union could well have been in the lead, and the Eastern Conference club was punished for the wasted chances in the second half.
Obafemi Martins pulled the Sounders level in the 61st, pouncing on a loose ball and finishing calmly to make it 1-1.
Marshall would wrap up a great showing in the 84th, snapping home a header from a Seattle corner to give the home side its fourth win in a row.
