Seattle Seahawks Fantasy Football Week 6: Fan Preview

Yahoo Contributor Network

Note: The opinions expressed here are my takes on the Seattle Seahawks' key players during the 2012 fantasy football season. As always, use your best judgment and conduct your own research on who to start or bench each week. You know your individual team and/or league situation better than anyone else. All statistics and point totals are based on Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football standard scoring system.

Russell Wilson, QB

Wilson finished the week earning 12.04 fantasy points in a win over the Carolina Panthers. This week he faces a New England Patriots' defense that has given up an average of 21.39 fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. While New England is certainly allowing fantasy points to quarterbacks this season, Wilson tends to struggle even in the best matchups. If for some reason he is a starter in a two-quarterback league, look for around 12.00 fantasy points this week.

Marshawn Lynch, RB

Lynch finished the week earning 9.40 fantasy points against Carolina. This week he faces a Patriots' defense that has allowed an average of 12.98 fantasy points to running backs this season. Lynch should be the Seahawks' best option getting a ton of carries this week. His back is not expected to be an issue despite the "probable" status this week. Look for around 13.00 fantasy points this week.

Sidney Rice, WR

Rice finished the week earning 6.70 fantasy points against the Panthers. This week he faces a New England defense that has given up an average of 25.88 fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season. While Wilson may have some problems having a high scoring game due to turnovers, Rice is his best target from a fantasy perspective. Provided he finds the end zone at least once, look for at least 8.00 fantasy points this week.

Defense

Seattle finished the week earning 15.00 fantasy points against Carolina. This week they face a Patriots' team that has allowed an average of just 3.20 fantasy points to team defense this season. While Seattle's defense is top notch, against the likes of Tom Brady it is hard to expect a huge fantasy point game this week. Look for around 6.00 fantasy points this week.
