The club has signed Darren Fells, the brother of New England Patriots tight end Daniel Fells, to a three-year contract after a workout.

Darren Fells, 6-7, 280 pounds, played basketball in Argentina this past year. He has also played professionally in Belgium, Finland, France and Mexico, according to

Darren Fells played college basketball at UC-Irvine. He turns 27 next month. Here is some video of him playing hoops in Finland.

Hoops players have made nice transitions to the gridiron with Tony Gonzalez being the best-known crossover star. Jimmy Graham of the New Orleans Saints is the most recent example.
