The Seattle Seahawks reduced their roster to 75 players by releasing veteran cornerback Will Blackmon and placing wide receiver on the physically unable to perform list.
Harvin underwent surgery for a torn labrum in his hip and isn't expected to be available until at least mid-November.
The team also placed rookie cornerback Tharold Simon (foot) and defensive end Greg Scruggs (knee) on PUP, while placing linebacker Korey Toomer on reserve non-football injury list.
