Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor signed a four-year, $28 million contract extension with $17 million guaranteed, potentially keeping him in the fold until 2017. Chancellor, 25, was a fifth-round pick in the 2010 draft. Coach Pete Carroll said in May that the Seahawks had begun dialogue with Chancellor about a new deal. Chancellor came to Seattle in the same draft in which the Seahawks landed free safety Earl Thomas, and the young tandem is an integral part of Carroll's tough and versatile defense.
