    SE Louisiana upsets Stephen F. Austin 54-50

    HAMMOND, La. (AP) -- Brandon Fortenberry scored 16 points and Roosevelt Johnson grabbed 14 rebounds as Southeastern Louisiana upset Stephen F. Austin 54-50 Saturday.

    The Lions (10-13, 8-5 Southland Conference) avenged a 52-40, Jan. 17 loss at Stephen F. Austin. The Lumberjacks (21-3, 12-2) had won five straight, 16 of 17.

    Down 12-0, the Lions finally scored on a Roger Woods jumper and trailed 23-21 at halftime. Todd Nelson (12 points) later hit one of his three 3-pointers for a 48-45 lead with 3:22 left.

    Southeastern Louisiana scored its last six points on free throws, three by Johnson (5 of 8 at the line). The last, with 0:12 left, clinched it.

    The Lumberjacks, 2 of 11 on treys, were led by Hal Bateman's 15 points and Taylor Smith's double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds).

    The Lions made 16 of 24 free throws, the Lumberjacks 8 of 17. Southeastern Louisiana's bench outscored the Lumberjacks' 21-8.
