BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) -- Devonte Upson came off the bench to score 16 points and JaMichael Hawkins added 15 as Southeastern Louisiana snapped a four-game losing skid with a 71-62 victory over Lamar and clinched the eighth seed in the Southland Conference tournament on Saturday night.
Senior Amos Wilson, in his final game as a Cardinal, scored 19 points to lead Lamar (4-26, 3-15) and Octavius Green came off the bench to add 11. The Cardinals made just 3 of 17 (17.6 percent) field-goal attempts midway through the first half, edged up to 24 percent by the break, and finished at 32.8 percent.
Lamar lost 8 of its last 9 games to close out the season and will not be making an appearance in the tournament, which starts March 12.
