Recommendation: The Mets did not offer many other details, but Hairston, who ended last season on the disabled list with a similar injury, will receive a cortisone shot Monday. He missed the rest of the season after injuring his oblique last year on Aug. 23, so it remains to be seen when he will be able to get back on the field. With Hairston out, Adam Loewen will have an opportunity to earn the backup center field job behind Andres Torres.
