Update: Downs will temporarily take over as Angels closer with Jordan Walden moving to a setup role, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Recommendation: Downs has a 3:2 K:BB in seven innings this season and while he doesn't overpower the opposition, his effectiveness as a setup man ultimately made him the first in line to take save opportunities with Walden struggling. The Angels have a lot on the line after their offseason spending spree, so it could become more than a temporary assignment for Downs if he thrives in the role.
