Update: Baker signed a one-year deal with the Cubs on Tuesday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Recommendation: Baker went 8-6 with a 3.14 ERA in 23 appearances for the Twins in 2011, but he missed all of 2012 after undergoing Tommy John surgery in April. It is not yet clear if he will be ready for spring training or the start of the regular season, but he will help bolster a talent-deprived Cubs rotation once healthy.
