The fate of Seattle Sounders midfielder Christian Tiffert is still very much up in the air just nine days ahead of the regular season opener, according to head coach Sigi Schmid.
“Obviously Christian is not in camp right now and that’s a situation that’s in a process right now,” Schmid told MLSsoccer.com’s ExtraTime Radio on Thursday. “It’s something I know that (general manager Adrian Hanauer) is dealing with and something that hopefully will get resolved in a short period of time.”
Tiffert notched three assists in 12 appearances for the Sounders last season after signing as a Designated Player in July.
