El Salvador international Jaime Alas has joined Major League Soccer and the San Jose Earthquakes on loan from Norwegian club Rosenborg BK.
Alas, 23, began his career with C.D. Luis Angel Firpo in his home country before signing for Rosenborg last summer, but a lack of first team action - he made just three league appearances in the 2012 season - has led him to look for playing time in MLS.
“We’re really excited to have Jaime,” said Earthquakes interim head coach Mark Watson in a statement on the club's website. “We’ve been monitoring him for a long time and we’re delighted to finally have him on board.”
Alas made his national team debut in 2010 and has gone on to make 32 appearances for La Selecta, scoring six goals.
