Five yellows and one red card decorated Buck Shaw Stadium Saturday night as San Jose hosted the Colorado Rapids in a 1-1 draw.
The visiting club was successful in the first half, silence San Jose's attacks and notching an away goal. In the 26th minute, Martin Rivero send in a short corner kick. Nathan Sturgis flicked the ball into the net, giving his new club a 1-0 lead.
The gloves came off in the second half as Steven Lenhart joined Alan Gordon and Golden Boot winner Chris Wondolowski. The cards began to make their appearances, and in the 78th minute, the Earthquakes were awarded a free kick. Marvin Chavez shot the ball over the Rapids wall, and it floated into goal. With the Honduran's first goal of the year, the Earthquakes finished the game 1-1 with the Colorado Rapids.
Shane O'Neil was ejected late on for Colorado.
