San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals Week 8 Injury Report: Fan’s Review

Yahoo Contributor Network

In this Week 8 matchup, the San Francisco 49ers (5-2) will visit the Arizona Cardinals (4-3). In this NFC West showdown, the 49ers look to dominate another division rival while the Cardinals hope to jumpstart their offense and avoid their fourth consecutive loss. Here's a look at the injuries sustained by both teams for this Week 8 contest.

Out for 49ers: None

Out for Cardinals: QB Kevin Kolb (ribs)

Kolb did not play last week against the Minnesota Vikings due to detached ribs, making it the first game he had missed this season. He is still a few weeks away from returning to the team and possibly retaining his starting spot over John Skelton.

Doubtful for 49ers: None

Doubtful for Cardinals: CB Gregory Toler (hamstring)

Toler has not practiced all week and will likely miss his third consecutive game with a hamstring injury. Jamell Fleming has been receiving more playing time in his place. When the Cardinals play nickel packages, the 49ers receivers could benefit from Toler's absence.

Questionable for 49ers: T Joe Staley (illness)

Last week, Staley was questionable against the Seattle Seahawks due to concussion concerns. This week, he's listed as questionable due to an illness. Like last week, he is expected to play on Monday.

Questionable for Cardinals: TE Jim Dray (knee), CB Jamell Fleming (back), TE Todd Heap (knee), S Kerry Rhodes (back), RB Anthony Sherman (knee), G Adam Snyder (quadriceps)

All six players listed have been limited participants in practice all week. As regular contributors at their respective positions, Rhodes and Snyder are the most important players listed. Rich Ohrnberger will most likely take Snyder's spot. Injuries to Heap and Dray would mean more playing time for Jeff King and Rob Housler.

Probable for 49ers: LB Tavares Gooden (elbow), RB Frank Gore (ribs), WR Mario Manningham (shoulder), QB Alex Smith (finger)

Upgraded from questionable from Week 7, Manningham had a full week of practice after sitting out last week's game. New to the injury report this week, Gore suffered a ribs injury against the Seahawks but also had a full week of practice. Both players should start without concern against the Cardinals. Gooden and Smith are listed as probable once again for the same reason as last week.

Probable for Cardinals: CB Michael Adams (hamstring), DE Calais Campbell (quadriceps), DT Darnell Dockett (hamstring), LB Quentin Groves (hamstring), LB Paris Lenon (ankle), S James Sanders (knee), LB O'Brien Schofield (knee), QB John Skelton (ankle), LB Reggie Walker (head)

No one listed as probable is in danger of missing Monday's game. Campbell, Dockett, and Lenon will be especially important for the Cardinals when it comes to stopping the 49ers' running game. Skelton and Schofield are other starters who will play an important role in this game.
