The 49ers were edged by the Saints, 23-20, in New Orleans.
Colin Kaepernick found the end zone two times on 17 of 31 passing for 127 yards and one pick. Drew Brees ended up going 30 of 43 with 305 yards passing, one touchdown and one pick for the Saints.
Frank Gore ran for 48 yards on 13 carries. Vernon Davis snagged four passes for 33 yards while adding a touchdown.
The San Francisco defense gave up 92 yards rushing and 305 passing. They got to Brees once for a sack.
Saints tight end Jimmy Graham put up 41 receiving yards. Running back Pierre Thomas also had a good game with 49 rushing yards and 35 receiving.
The 49ers head to Landover next week to face the Redskins (3-7) while the Saints go to Atlanta to play the Falcons (2-8).
