Ryan Mathews had a big day for the offense, leading the way to a rout for the Chargers over the Giants, 37-14, at home.
Philip Rivers picked apart the Giants for three touchdowns on 21 of 28 passing for 249 yards and one fumble. On the Giants side, Eli Manning did not have as good a day, going 20 of 32 with 259 yards passing, one touchdown and two picks.
Mathews was a focal point for the Chargers, running at will on the Giants for 103 yards on 29 carries with a touchdown in addition to three receptions for 32 yards. Keenan Allen was a highlight, pulling in three balls for 59 yards with two touchdowns.
The San Diego defense was the major reason for the victory, giving up 92 yards rushing and 259 passing. They got to Manning for two sacks.
Finally, Nick Novak was perfect, making all three of his field goal attempts.
Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks had a big day with 135 receiving yards. Running back Andre Brown had a good game as well with 81 rushing yards and 15 receiving.
The Chargers head to Denver next week to face the Broncos (11-2) while the Giants host the Seahawks (11-2).
