NEW YORK (AP) -- Samraat improved to 2 for 2 with a 5 1/2-length victory in the $62,000 allowance feature on Friday at Aqueduct.
The colt trained by Rick Violette set the pace before pulling clear in the late stages of the race for New York bred 2-year-olds. Jose Ortiz was aboard for the 7 1/2 furlongs in 1:30.46 on the fast track.
Samraat, the 4-5 favorite, paid $3.70, $2.90 and $2.50. Native Hero was second, returning $6.80 and $5.10, while Sidearm paid $4.30 to show.
