Ryan Strome out long-term with broken wrist: Report
If the New York Islanders are going are going to push into the playoffs this season, they’re reportedly going to have to do so without center Ryan Strome.
According to Newsday’s Arthur Staple, the Islanders’ third-line center suffered a broken wrist in the second period of his team’s 3-2 in over the New York Rangers. Per Staple, Strome will miss the rest of the regular season and the team would have to go deep in the playoffs for him to return.

Islanders Insight explained exactly how Strome was injured:
While taking a pretty innocent looking hit along the boards from Brady Skjei as Strome sent the puck back to the defense from the right wing in the defensive zone, Strome fell to the ice, got up and went straight to the bench favoring his arm.
The 23-year-old Strome has 13 goals and 30 points while averaging 14:36 of ice-time per-game. Strome’s possession numbers have dropped this season to a minus-3.88 adjusted 5-on-5 CF% rel from plus-1.22, but that may have to do more with deployment of the player since his defensive zone starts have gone up.
