Ryan Ludwick: Looking For New Deal From Reds

Rotowire.com
Update: Ludwick will turn down his $5 million mutual option for 2013 but still plans to return to the Reds next season, CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports.

Recommendation: The Reds are interested in retaining Ludwick after a resurgent 2012 campaign that saw him hit .275 with 26 homers and 80 RBI. After spending the last season and a half in unfriendly hitting environments in Pittsburgh and San Diego, Ludwick found a home at Great American Ballpark, where he smacked 16 of his 26 homers. He'll likely get a healthy increase in salary from the $2.5 million he earned last season with the Reds.
