Rutgers' Jordan brings in first recruit

The SportsXchange

New Rutgers University head coach Eddie Jordan wasted little time improving the school's basketball program.

Two days after being introduced as the Scarlet Knights' coach, Jordan announced the signing of his first recruit, as guard-forward Craig Brown signed a letter of intent to play at the school.

The 6-foot-5 Brown averaged 18.0 points and 8.0 rebounds as a sophomore last season at Broward College in Davie, Fla. Jordan called Brown a "high-character young man who works hard, both in the gym and in the classroom."

Jordan took over at Rutgers after Mike Rice was fired after videos displayed him verbally and physically abusing players.
