Russell Henley's playoff victory at the Honda Classic did wonders to restore confidence for a player -- who as a rookie in 2013 -- was victorious in his very first start on the PGA Tour at the Sony Open.

Until Sunday at PGA National, Henley had been in a serious slump, going without a top-10 finish since a tie for sixth at the Memorial last June.

With the playoff victory over Rory McIlroy, Ryan Palmer and Russell Knox, Henley made an incredible leap in the latest U.S. Ryder Cup standings, zooming up from No. 97 to No. 18.

After the Honda Classic, Henley and Palmer (No. 27 to No. 15) were the only players to sneak into the top 20 who weren't previously there.

Here's a look at the current top 12 (remember, the top 9 after the PGA Championship in August automatically qualify, while U.S. Captain Tom Watson fills out the team with three captain's picks):

1. Jimmy Walker 2. Dustin Johnson 3. Phil Mickelson 4. Harris English 5. Jason Dufner 6. Zach Johnson 7. Bubba Watson 8. Webb Simpson 9. Ryan Moore ----------------------------- 10. Chris Kirk 11. Kevin Stadler 12. Jordan Spieth

The only movement in the top 10 last week involved Zach Johnson and Bubba Watson. Johnson, previously No. 7, took the No. 6 spot from Watson with a tie for 33rd at the Honda Classic. Watson did not play.

Tiger Woods, who withdrew from the tournament during the final round, slipped from No. 36 to No. 39 on this week's list.
