Rumor Roundup (Aug. 23 2014): Hulk Hogan-Brock Lesnar issue, AJ Lee, Daniel Bryan injury, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • This one is fun: Brock Lesnar's line to Hulk Hogan during their brief confrontation on Raw -- "party's over, grandpa" -- was apparently totally improvised, as Hogan indicated in the TMZ article that was published recently. He played up having issues with Lesnar over it. Here's the thing: While he was certainly playing it up for all it was worth, word is he really wasn't happy with Lesnar saying that and it was something that was being talked about among people in WWE over the last week.
  • We've been avoiding this one but it seems to keep popping up in various places so here you go: There's word going around that there's a belief AJ Lee will be done with WWE within the next year or so. Jim Ross wrote not long ago about her possibly wanting out but he wasn't reporting on anything officially, merely speaking on the possibility. Still, the rumor has persisted, so there you go. See disclaimers, as usual.
  • Regarding the rumors going around of Daniel Bryan needing Tommy John surgery, the Wrestling Observer recently said he's still being evaluated to figure out the best course of action. That could include yet another surgery but nothing is official just yet.
  • Once Bray Wyatt is finished working with Chris Jericho, there's apparently been talk of pairing him up with Sheamus to feud over the United States championship.
  • It would seem a number of folks in various departments at the offices for TNA in Nashville were fired recently, including Jason James, who took overr Don West's role as the guy who sold merchandise for the company.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
