Roof Open for Monday Night Football?

National Football Post

Cowboys Stadium, the house that Jerry Jones built, is set to host this week’s Monday Night matchup between the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys. One of the many nice features of Cowboys stadium is the retractable roof so that weather will not have any impact on the game being played. However, there are a number of factors that go into the decision making process to open or close the roof during a game, the most important of which is the weather. forecasts partly cloudy skies with lows around 61 degrees and less than 5 mph winds.

According to Vincent Tran, Dallas Cowboys’ Guest Services Manager, Mr. Jones is planning to have the roof open on Monday night, with little concern for rain. This decision could change up until 90 minutes before kick-off, depending on the forecast. It is common for this part of Texas to experience flash thunder storms.. After T-90 minutes, only an NFL official can choose to change the position of an NFL stadium room.

Weather permitting; this game looks to be a fair matchup between two potential NFC playoff teams. Led by their experienced defenses, the Bears versus Cowboys match-up is likely to be decided in the fourth quarter. If the Bears plan on winning this game they need to keep Jay Cutler off the turf, which is not going to be easy with DeMarcus Ware setting his sights on Cutler.

The key for Tony Romo and the Cowboys offense is to get in the end zone and not settle for field goals. If they can stretch out the lead early and not give the Bears offense a chance to recover, the Cowboys will shine in the spotlights of Cowboys Stadium. Expect Cowboys fans to be loud and both teams to be fired up on what looks to be a perfect evening for Monday Night Football.
