Update: Cedeno was granted his release from the Cardinals on Tuesday, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Recommendation: Apparently, the Cardinals relayed to Cedeno that the team was "going in a different direction." That direction is seemingly to ensure a spot on the Opening Day roster for the hot-hitting Matt Adams. In the meantime, the sure fielding of Cedeno is sure to land him a roster spot elsewhere in the majors.
