Ronda Rousey Says Her 34-Second Fight Against Bethe Correia Could Have Been Even Shorter Than It Was

How is that even possible?

If you stayed up late to watch Ronda Rousey’s last fight against Bethe Correia, you didn’t have to wait very long for it to end. It lasted just 34 seconds—and it inspired a #ThingsShorterThanARouseyFight hashtag. But believe it or not, Rousey says the fight could have been even shorter than it was.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night, Rousey revealed that she could have defeated Correia much quicker than she actually did. But she wanted to “take her time” with her.

“It was longer than the last two [fights] combined,” she said. “She went to the ground, I didn’t go to the ground. She tried to close the distance, and I could have thrown her. I was like, ‘No, you’re getting knocked out tonight.’”

Check out the clip above to hear Rousey discuss her fight with Correia. She also talks about her ongoing beef with Floyd Mayweather. And in the video below, she promises that her upcoming fight with Holly Holm is going to last much longer than her fight with Correia:
