Based on the short video promo, I'm looking forward to seeing more of the story from behind-the-scenes with Strikeforce champion, Ronda Rousey.
"All Access: Ronda Rousey": part one premieres on Showtime on Wednesday, August 8. Part two airs a week later on August 15 (9:30 pm PT/ET). video
I'm a big fan of Ronda's--I don't get tired of her creative, (often insulting) comments and the way she engages fans and non-fans. She makes me laugh. I don't take everything she says seriously.
Strikeforce: Rousey vs Kaufman, August 18
Sarah Kaufman is a tough opponent for Ronda. Defeating Ronda would be huge for Sarah in that she would regain the Strikeforce championship belt and she would hand Ronda her first loss in an MMA fight.
Based on Showtime / Strikeforce focusing so much of their advertising and attention on Ronda is an indication of which fighter has more star power and audience appeal. Getting people to tune in because they love you--or because they hate you--makes Ronda the big dog in the game of making money for providing good entertainment.
Emmy award-winning Showtime Sports, producer of the "All Access" series, promise an "all-encompassing look at women's mixed martial arts (MMA) sensation Ronda Rousey."
No mention of an All-Access look at Sarah Kaufman.
Getting noticed vs Keeping people's attention
There's something to be said for the star power and the "it" factor that Ronda has. Whether you love her or hate her, when people hear what she says or watch her fight, they remember who she is.
With social media making a difference in who gets attention from Zuffa matchmakers, being invisible or too quiet is a detriment to a fighter's career. Ronda has received the lion's share of the promotional attention from whoever is tweeting for @ShoSports. That person tweeted photos of Ronda in her skin-tight, black latex catsuit. I believe Sarah Kaufman wore the same outfit, but fans will have to wait for the promotional commercial to see Sarah in her catsuit.
Sarah Kaufman @mmasarah re-tweeted a photo of the stare-down between her and Ronda (filmed for the fight promotional video). "@shosports: @Strikeforce champ @RondaRousey and challenger @mmasarah mean business. Aug 18 should be a special one! http://ow.ly/i/MzJG"
Between Sarah and Ronda, who wins is still up for debate
These girls do not like each other. Fists will be flying...until Ronda catches one--but not with her face.
I can't wait to see what these two women have planned to thwart each other's strengths.
Against Sarah Kaufman, Ronda is not guaranteed a win.
