NEW YORK (AP) -- Esmil Rogers and the New York Yankees have agreed to a $1.48 million, one-year contract. The pitcher is guaranteed $750,000 under the deal, which was reached Tuesday night ahead of the deadline for teams to offer 2015 contracts to unsigned players on their 40-man rosters. Rogers would have been eligible for salary arbitration after earning $1.85 million last season. Rogers was 2-0 with a 5.72 ERA this year in one start and 33 relief appearances for Toronto and the Yankees, who claimed him off waivers on July 31. The right-hander is 18-21 with a 5.54 ERA in six big league seasons. New York failed to offer a 2015 contract to left-hander David Huff, who became a free agent. The 30-year-old left-hander was 3-1 with a 1.85 ERA in 30 relief appearances, made $505,000 and would have been eligible for arbitration for the first time. The Yankees also didn't offer contracts to right-hander Jose Campos and outfielder Slade Heathcott.
