The Houston Rockets signed guard-forward James Anderson to a multiyear deal on Wednesday and released guard Daequan Cook. Anderson was waived by San Antonio on Dec. 20. In 10 games this season with the Spurs, Anderson averaged 3.4 points and 1.4 rebounds. His best game came against Miami on Nov. 29 when he had nine points, four rebounds and three assists in 20 minutes. A 2010 first-round draft pick out of Oklahoma State in 2010, Anderson has averaged 3.7 points and 1.3 rebounds in his career. Cook came to the Rockets this season in the trade with Oklahoma City for guard James Harden. The six-year NBA veteran averaged 3.4 points in 16 games.
