The Houston Rockets signed second-round draft pick Isaiah Canaan and agreed to terms with rookie free agents Robert Covington and B.J. Young, the team announced Monday.
Canaan, a guard, was taken 34th overall by Houston in last month's draft. He averaged 12.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.40 steals in five Summer League games in Orlando. He averaged 15.5 points, 2.9 assists and 2.8 rebounds over four seasons at Murray State.
Covington, a forward out of Tennessee State, averaged 12.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.40 steals in five games in the Rockets' Summer League. He averaged 14.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks in four collegiate seasons.
Young, a guard out of Arkansas, averaged 11.8 points in four games in the Rockets' Summer League. He averaged 15.2 points in two seasons at Arkansas.
Also, the Rockets waived guard/forward James Anderson and center Tim Ohlbrecht.
