Other key players for Portland included LaMarcus Aldridge with 21 points and 6 rebounds, Wesley Matthews with 18 points and 6 rebounds, and Mo Williams with 16 points and 6 assists. Kevin Martin had another strong performance for Minnesota in the loss, putting up 30 points on 11-22 shooting, including 6-10 from behind the arc. Kevin Love contributed 15 points and 13 rebounds and Ricky Rubio finished with 10 points and 11 assists.
In a battle of strength versus strength, the high-powered offense of Portland (ranked first in the NBA in offensive efficiency) emerged victorious over the defense of Minnesota (ranked fifth in defensive efficiency), scoring 1.11 points per possession.
This loss snaps a three-game winning streak for Minnesota, dropping them to 21-22 on the year.
