NEW YORK (AP) -- Robert Morris is picked to win the NEC women's basketball conference this season.

The Colonials received five first place ballots from the coaches in a preseason poll that was revealed at the conference media day on Tuesday.

With the exception of Quinnipiac last season, no team picked first in the preseason poll has won the conference tournament title in the past eight years. Quinnipiac and Monmouth bolted for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference this past summer.

Sacred Heart is second receiving three first place ballots. Mount St. Mary's and Saint Francis, Pa. followed Sacred Heart, each receiving one first place vote.

Central Connecticut, St. Francis, N.Y., Bryant, LIU, Fairleigh Dickinson and Wagner rounded out the preseason poll.
