Robert Griffin: Agent Says No Workout With IND

Update: Griffin's agent advised him to not attend a private workout with the Colts, Colts owners Jim Irsay stated on Twitter.

Recommendation: Irsay has stated publicly that the Colts haven't decided to take Andrew Luck over Griffin with the first pick, but this development leads us to conclude two things. The first is that the advice given by Griffin's agent seems to imply that he thinks the Colts have no intention of selecting Griffin, thus making a workout a waste of time. Irsay's decision to publicly disclose this, meanwhile, seems like an attempt to pressure Griffin's agent into changing course, or perhaps bait Griffin himself into overruling his agent. The reason we think Irsay is pushing for the workout to occur, of course, is so he can talk to Luck's agent in contract negotiations and pretend that Luck's camp doesn't have all the leverage. It could save the Colts money, in other words, if Luck's agent can't ignore the possibility of Griffin being the pick. Unfortunately for Irsay, the only way he'll convince anyone he might pick Griffin is to actually pull that trigger.
