The Irish Football Association confirmed that Los Angeles Galaxy striker Robbie Keane has been declared fit to travel with the Republic of Ireland squad for Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands.
The forward had been struggling with an Achilles injury and sat out Friday night's 6-1 drubbing at the hands of Germany. The 32-year-old, whose 15 goals lead the Galaxy and are fourth-most in MLS, trained on Sunday without any problems and is set to stay with Giovanni Trapattoni's squad as it looks to get its qualifying campaign back on course.
Fellow striker Andy Keogh has been left out of the squad after suffering a concussion following a collision in training. The Millwall frontman, who netted Ireland's consolation goal at the Aviva Stadium on Friday, will not travel with the team and is set to return to his English club.
