Darien Brothers hit three free throws with 24 seconds left in overtime to give the Spiders the lead and Richmond survived another late-game meltdown to earn an 83-80 victory over St. Bonaventure.
After trailing by double digits in the second half, St. Bonaventure cut it to one on an Eric Mosley three-pointer with 1:16 to play, then tied the game at 67 on a Charlon Kloof free throw with 40 seconds left to force overtime.
Cedric Lindsay led the way for Richmond with 22 points. Greg Robbins added 20 on 7 of 8 shooting.
Mosley led all scorers with 30. Jordan Gaithersburg chipped in 18, making all seven of his shots from the floor and both free throws.
Richmond entered the day with four losses in its last five games. St. Bonaventure, which fell to LaSalle in overtime on Wednesday, lost its second straight.
The game featured the last two Atlantic 10 tournament winners. St. Bonaventure won it last season and Richmond did so in 2011.
Richmond led 35-29 at the half despite Mosley's 17 points for the Bonnies.
