Guard Cedrick Lindsay had 14 points and nine assists to lead Richmond to a 68-53 victory over James Madison on Saturday night at the Robins Center in Richmond, Va.
Richmond (6-2) jumped out to a 21-9 lead in the first half and was up 35-25 at halftime. The Spiders started the second half with a 7-0 run and expanded the margin to 21 in the final minutes.
Guard ShawnDre' Jones scored 13 points for Richmond with a perfect shooting night, making 4 of 4 from the field, including 3 of 3 on 3-pointers, and 2 of 2 from the free throw line.
Forwards Alonzo Nelson-Ododa, Terry Allen and Derrick Williams contributed 10 points each. Williams led the Spiders in rebounding with nine.
James Madison (2-6) struggled with its shooting. The Dukes were 0 of 16 on 3-pointers and shot 30.9 percent from the field.
Guard Charles Cook scored a game-high 20 points and guard Ron Curry had 16 for James Madison.
