Even for those that make it (following Golden State’s collapse after taking a 3-1 lead in the 2016 NBA Finals) to Game 7 of the championship round, the NBA offseason can still drone on for far, far too long. As such, one has to find new ways to entertain oneself. Richard Jefferson’s season ended June 19 of this year, during that Game 7 (where he gathered nine rebounds in 25 minutes), and the four months between that triumph and the impending 2016-17 season are apparently too long to suffer through.

As someone who was in college for the premiere and ultimately worldwide takeover of Sisqo’s “The Thong Song,” the Cleveland Cavaliers’ veteran swingman is more than aware of the sort of damage the tune can bring. This is probably why, in a fit of hilarious harum-scarum following what looked like a lunch with teammate Channing Frye on Monday at a Cleveland-area bar, Jefferson decided to key up the pub’s jukebox to play 1999’s No. 1 hit a dozen times in a row.

From his Snapchat, via Hoopshype:

Ruining people’s lives with a terrible, too-catchy, or too-ubiquitous (in this case, “The Thong Song” checks all the boxes in that triptych) song is a wonderful pursuit. With that stated, we’re hoping that this hardly becomes a trend, especially in Ohio (where it would seem to want to take off). Take it from this 36-year old: You don’t want to take your hip, prank suggestions from someone born in 1980.
