Franck Ribery admits he is "a little bit sad" to see Zlatan Ibrahimovic miss out on chance to win the 2013 Ballon d'Or.
The 30-year-old will battle it out with holder Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for the prize following his exceptional season for treble-winning Bayern Munich.
Despite his delight to have made it into the final three for the award, Ribery feels Ibrahimovic can count himself unlucky to have missed out following a superb year for Sweden and Paris Saint-Germain.
"I'm happy. Happy for myself, for the club, and for my whole family," he told FIFA.com.
"But I am a little bit sad for Ibrahimovic because he's still a great player and has done great things at Paris Saint-Germain."
The Bayern star also reflected on his side's shock 3-2 defeat at home to Manchester City on Tuesday evening, admitting the Champions League holders became complacent at 2-0.
"We played well in the first 20 minutes, we pressed well and we were aggressive. But maybe after that we thought it was too easy," he added.
"We have to correct that quickly and it starts with Hamburg on Saturday in the Bundesliga."
