Reyes was placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday night, several hours after getting hurt running the bases during an opening 9-2 loss to Tampa Bay.
''It should be enough,'' Reyes said Tuesday, adding he didn't want to put a definitive date on his return ''because with hamstrings you never know.''
An MRI Tuesday showed Reyes has mild inflammation of the hamstring. He will rest the leg for several days.
''It is a relief,'' Reyes said. ''That's good news. Just some inflammation there, no damage at all. Just some rest and I should be fine.''
Reyes missed several games during the final week of spring training because of the same injury.
''We don't think Reyes is going to be out long,'' Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said.
Reyes was limited to 93 games last season, when he injured his left ankle in Toronto's 10th game and was sidelined until June 26.
Toronto selected the contract of infielder Jonathan Diaz from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday night and he started at shortstop on Tuesday.
''He's irreplaceable,'' Diaz said of Reyes. ''I'm just here to contribute.''
