A Wisconsin restaurant group has decided it no longer wants to be associated with Milwaukee slugger Ryan Braun and on Thursday severed ties with the suspended Brewer. The decision by the SURG group was not unexpected, according to the Business Journal of Milwaukee. "We've appreciated the relationship we had with Ryan over the last several years, and the entire SURG family wishes him success in the future," said Michael Polaski, CEO and co-owner of SURG Restaurant Group. Braun was linked to the restaurant group with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The name of the restaurant -- 8-Twelve MVP Bar & Grill -- reflected the two players' numbers. SURG said it will continue its relationship with Rodgers with its existing restaurant and with its plans for future establishments. Braun released a statement saying he supported SURG's decision and wished the group luck. Braun is serving a 65-game suspension for ties to the Biogenesis performance-enhancing drug scandal. His suspension also has cost Braun a shoe deal with Nike and a relationship with a convenience store.
