New York Giants assistant coach Matt Ruhle is expected to be named Temple's new head football coach, multiple media outlets reported Friday.
Temple had narrowed its coaching search to two candidates: University of Miami defensive coordinator Mark D'Onofrio and Rhule, and Bruce Feldman of CBSSports.com reported that D'Onofrio had taken his name out of consideration.
Ruhle, a former Owls assistant coach, has been offered the job, and the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that unless there is a breakdown in negotiations - which is unlikely -- Ruhle probably will be introduced as the Owls new head coach at a press conference on Monday.
Ruhle will replace Steve Addazio, who left to take the head coaching job at Boston College
Ruhle previously interviewed for the Temple job in December 2010 after Al Golden accepted his current job at Miami, but Addazio was hired instead.
