The Eagles have agreed to terms with S O.J. Atogwe, Sportsnet in Canada first reported.
Atogwe, who turns 31 this weekend, played in 13 games with eight starts for the Redskins last season. He had 60 tackles, six passes defensed and three interceptions. Washington released Atogwe in March.
Atogwe played for the Rams from 2005-10, starting every game from 2006-08. He has 25 career interceptions, 44 passes defensed and 16 forced fumbles.
The Way We See It
Once one of the top playmaking safeties in the NFL, Atogwe was beset my injuries in D.C. and never really was able to make an impact with the Redskins. The Eagles needed safety depth, and it’s more likely that he will be a backup free safety to Nate Allen than he will be competing against Jaiquwan Jarrett and Kurt Coleman at strong safety.
