Michigan’s satellite camp tour has ended one stop early (AP).

The Michigan satellite camp tour has been halted prematurely because of the Zika virus.

Per the Detroit Free Press, Michigan won’t be having its scheduled satellite camp in American Samoa on Thursday because of the threat of the virus. The American Samoa camp was the last camp scheduled in Michigan’s June satellite camp tour.

Harbaugh recently announced that his wife was pregnant. Zika has been linked to the possibility of birth defects and officials are studying the specifics of how the virus can be transmitted sexually.

The virus is one of many concerns stated about the 2016 Summer Olympics, set to begin in Rio de Janeiro in August. Golfers Jason Day and Shane Lowry recently announced they weren’t participating in the Olympics over Zika concerns.

The communications director for the Republican Party in American Samoa first announced the cancellation of the camp Wednesday.

The Jim Harbaugh American Samoa Gridiron camp that was slated to happen on Thursday has been cancelled due to fears of the Zika Virus. It was announced late last month that Harbaugh and his wife Sarah were expecting a baby. Sources say that their families doctor advised them to skip American Samoa’s football camp as the Zika virus poses significant health risks to pregnant women.

Harbaugh and Michigan were in Hawaii earlier in the week for satellite camps and he wore a Marcus Mariota Tennessee Titans jersey. The 2014 Heisman Trophy winner from Oregon is a native of Hawaii.
