Report: Yankees ' Hughes agrees to one-year deal

The New York Yankees avoided an arbitration hearing with pitcher Phil Hughes, when Hughes agreed to a one-year, $7.15 million contract, the New York Daily News reported.

Hughes, 26, was 16-13 last season with a 4.32 earned average in 32 games, all starts. His best season was 2010, when he went 18-8.

He made $2.7 million in 2011 and $3.2 million in 2012.
