Wyoming head coach Dave Christensen was fired after the Cowboys lost five of their final six games of the season, USA Today reported Sunday. Christensen coached the Cowboys for five seasons, going 27-34, including 16-22 in the Mountain West Conference. Wyoming ended the season with a 35-7 loss to Utah State on Saturday. After a 4-2 start to the season, the Cowboys finished 5-7. Wyoming made bowl games in two of Christensen's first three seasons but has two straight losing seasons. Christensen caused controversy last season during a profanity-laced tirade against Air Force coach Troy Calhoun after a 28-27 loss. Video of the confrontation went viral on YouTube. Athletics director Tom Burman suspended Christensen one game and fined him $50,000.
