Report: Wolves agree to guaranteed deal with Glenn Robinson III

The Minnesota Timberwolves will reportedly sign secound-round pick Glenn Robinson III to a guaranteed deal, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. Robinson, out of Michigan, was picked No. 40 by the Wolves during the 2014 NBA Draft. Improving the team's athleticism as a major concern for the offseason.

This move puts the Wolves at 16 players with guaranteed contracts and 18 players overall when you add non-guaranteed deals for Kyrylo Fesenko and Brady Heslip. Fesenko and Heslip will come to training camp for the Wolves but are unlikely to make the team. Both played for the Wolves' summer league team in Las Vegas in July. As for Robinson, guaranteeing his deal means the Wolves will have to jettison one contract/player.

J.J. Barea is the most likely casualty of this signing. The Wolves tried to include Barea and his expiring contract in deals during the Kevin Love sweepstakes but didn't find a team to accept his deal. The Wolves will either try to trade Barea for relative pennies in one last ditch effort or they could be open to buying out his contract, allowing him to become a free agent if he clears waivers. He's owed $4.5 million in the final year a four-year deal he signed with the team in 2011.
