The Green Bay Packers offered $3 million to Wisconsin to play a 2016 non-conference game in Lambeau Field against LSU, the Wisconsin State Journal reported.
The University of Wisconsin Board of Regents reviewed a contract on Thursday from the Packers that included terms of the deal, which include the NFL team keeping any profits from the game. The game would be played, pending the board's approval, on Sept. 3, 2016.
Wisconsin would receive 40,000 tickets for the game in the historic stadium that seats slightly less than 81,000. The Badgers have never played a game in Lambeau.
LSU and Wisconsin are scheduled to meet in a 2014 season opener in Houston's Reliant Stadium.
Final approval on the 2016 game could come Friday from the Board of Regents.
